Our society asks so much of us from work, to family, to social activities. We celebrate busyness and demonize rest, especially for BIPOC and low-income communities.
This hour is meant as a time to rest, recharge, and reconnect with ourselves. With no judgment and no expectations.
Gather in a small group setting with soothing sounds, dim lighting, and many props to create comfort. Restorative Yoga shapes, readings to inspire rest, and accessible meditation suggestions will be available, but practice rest in any way you see fit (including napping or lounging).
Most props provided, but if you have blankets, pillows, padding, etc that helps you find comfort, bring it.
Class is donation-based with proceeds going to a local nonprofit (details coming soon) that serves Nashville's most under-invested communities. Donate what you can, no questions asked.
