Does the current flood of troubling news leave you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or numb? Do you find yourself doom-scrolling or ruminating on distressing headlines? While it is important to stay informed, the 24/7 news cycle can take a toll on mental and physical well-being, leading to stress, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion.
In this recorded workshop, a trauma-informed yoga instructor will lead a gentle movement and Yin Yoga session designed to help you find peace amongst discomfort. Through accessible movement, breathwork, and mindfulness, you’ll learn techniques to regulate your nervous system and create space for balance. No prior yoga experience is necessary.
After practice, a licensed clinical psychologist will explore the concept of news fatigue and burnout—how overconsumption of media affects our nervous system, contributes to stress, and fuels feelings of helplessness. You’ll gain practical tools for engaging with the news in a way that keeps you informed without overwhelming your mental health. Learn strategies to set boundaries, find balance, and avoid cycles of rumination.
